近年來 3D 列印技術大步向前發展，並得到了不少廠商的應用，但始終限制於細小的部件上，大型的列印項目仍非常罕見。近日，一家名為 3DP Unlimited 的公司研發了大型的 3D 列印機，可供列印 1米 x 1米 x 0.5 米 的物件，對需要打印立體模型的建築師或工程師等尤其實用。
X1000 可列印大型物件
有別於常見的 3D 列印機，型號為 X1000 的列印機採用開放式列印環境可以列印到層次達 70 微米。為應付大型列印項目，X1000 更集成了步進馬達、放大器、精確的機械部件、驅動機制、可快速運作的馬達與運動控制。
X1000 的對像為工程師，以協助縮短其設計時間及推出市場的時間。為壓低列印機成本，x1000 採用開源軟件及控制平台。
